Baby Snow Leopard Stalks And Startles His Mom
A mother snow leopard was caught off guard when her cub set up a sneak attack!
The mother snow leopard was so surprised that she leaped several feet into the air.
Johnie Martin shared a video of the sneak attack on his YouTube channel, which he credits to his mom filming at the zoo.
In the video, you can see the unsuspecting mother leopard sitting by some rocks and her cub in the background is slyly sneaking around on his belly.

Eventually, the mama hops up to walk away and the baby springs up and scares her! The mother was so surprised that she leaped into the air before continuing her walk away.
According to the World Wildlife Fund, snow leopards are easily camouflaged thanks to their long fur and less distinctive markings. In fact, their markings seem to move and change as the snow leopards walk, making it harder for other animals to spot them.
The baby cub seemed to use that to his advantage as he blended into the grass before pouncing.
Beyond that, WWF reports that snow leopards are known for their impressive ability to jump. While the mother’s jump may have seemed exaggerated, snow leopards have been known to jump up to 9 meters (nearly 30 feet!), or around 6 times their body length!
