In the press release, HCSO explained that local 31-year-old Christopher Snow was jetskiing with his daughter, 13-year-old Alexis Snow, but the day went on and the two failed to return home. Snow’s girlfriend, Carolyn Joyce, went to the dock herself when 8.m. rolled around and she still hadn’t heard from them.

Once at the dock, Snow and his daughter were still nowhere to be found, and Carolyn sought help from HCSO Deputy Kevin Keich.

While waiting for assistance to arrive and help with the search, a local man and his family offered to take the deputy out on their boat and help search for the father and daughter duo.

HCSO shared in the press release, “Approximately 40 minutes after meeting with Joyce, Deputy Reich was able to locate the missing boaters. They had been treading water for nearly an hour.”

Sheriff Chad Chronister praised the family who stepped up to help, along with the deputy. He said in the press release, “The swift response of our deputy and the assistance provided by the community played a crucial role in the successful rescue of Christopher and Alexis Snow. We are relieved that they were returned to shore safely and without any injuries. It is scary to imagine what could have happened had this father and daughter not been wearing their life jackets.”

Christopher Snow added, “I want to thank both the boaters that helped and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office for being on patrol and noticing something wasn’t right. My life jacket wasn’t sized properly, so this is a good reminder to make sure yours is fitted correctly.”
