Sad Ram Spends Years In Isolation Until He Finally Gets A Family Of His Own

Every animal deserves to be cared for and to have someone special in their life. Regardless of whether it is another animal or if they are living in a forever home, it is something that they need because, like humans, they crave that personal touch and contact.

This was seen in a rather interesting way when it came to Huxley. Huxley lived at a petting zoo and didn’t have any friends.

You could see that he was depressed and miserable, often hanging out by himself and not wanting to mingle with the other animals.

According to GeoBeats Animals, many people who visited the zoo where Huxley lived referred to him as the “depressed ram.” He was left out in the pen without any covering, regardless of the weather conditions or what was happening outside.

Unfortunately, they weren’t feeding Huxley a proper diet as well. He would just eat the food that was thrown over the fence at him, so he ended up overweight, which added stress to his body.

Huxley sat by himself in the corner of the pen alone every day for many years. It was a sad situation, but it was about to change in an amazing way.

Fortunately, a sanctuary for rescued animals in New Jersey, Uncle Neil’s Home, was able to take Huxley in. The president and founder of the rescue, Rian Feldman, learned about Huxley when visiting and she felt that it was heartbreaking to see him struggling by himself in the cold and miserable conditions.

According to GeoBeats Animals, she would even lose sleep when thinking about Huxley and she told herself that she would provide him with a new home if she ever had the opportunity.

That opportunity came after she asked the county to release three animals from the zoo to the rescue. It took some time but they agreed and Rian was there to pick him up a day later.

These days, Huxley has a comfortable place to sleep and plenty of attention. Rian gives him special attention and anytime she has an opportunity, she is over there to pet him and give him kisses.

The new surroundings were not something that Huxley got used to overnight. It took some time and TLC but eventually, Huxley was living every day as a “very, very happy” animal.
