Woman Issues Warning After Finding Bed Bugs Hidden In AirBnb

A Chicago-based woman named Sara Luepker is issuing a warning after experiencing bedbugs at an AirBnb.

I think it’s safe to say that for most people, avoiding bed bugs is a top priority while traveling. We know to check cheap hotels for them, but a lot of people don’t consider doing the same for AirBnb!

Sara took to TikTok (@saramics.pottery) to share about her experience in hopes of saving others from the same fate.

In the video, Sara said that she stayed at a nice and clean looking AirBnb for a friend’s bachelorette party.

After staying one night in the bed, Sara noticed some bumps on her body but assumed they were from mosquitos. However, after a few more nights passed, she started noticing even more bites on her body and they were showing up in clusters!

Since bed bug bites can take up to 14 days to develop, it can take some time to notice them or even figure out where they’re coming from.

Sara and some friends decided to check her AirBnb bed for bed bugs and the bed actually appeared clear. However, a second check revealed them hiding in the cloth headboard.

In the end, Sara was covered in bed bugs but she did get a refund for her visit.
