Florida Woman Discovers 400lb Alligator Swimming In Her Pool

A Florida woman awoke to quite a surprise when she saw a massive, 400lb alligator swimming in her pool!

March 8 started as a normal day for Lynn Tossi – until she went outside and discovered the massive 11.5-foot ‘gator in her pool in Stone Island in Deltona, Florida.

Lynn’s husband, Carlos Tosi, shared about the harrowing discovery on Facebook. He posted photos, saying, “Florida Living. Lynn woke up to this yesterday. 11’5″ over 400lb!!”

A discovery like that might make you think twice before jumping into any bodies of water, at least before checking them first. Thankfully, Lynn spotted the alligator before any damage was done.

According to FOX 35 Orlando, the couple called trappers with Florida Fish and Wildlife to remove the massive animal from the pool.

Once removed from the pool, the alligator was euthanized as part of Florida’s SNAP (Statewide Nuisance Alligator Program). Under SNAP policy, trappers can remove and euthanize alligators deemed a nuisance, which means it’s “at least 4 feet in length and the caller believes it poses a threat to people, pets or property.”

Understandably, the alligator in Lynn’s pool met the criteria for being a nuisance ‘gator that could be a threat to her family or pets just based on its size alone.
